Coaching & Lessons

Based at St Ives Golf Club, the Ashwell Academy realises there are many different styles that can hit a good golf shot.

As a result we don’t try to teach every golfer the same swing, we treat each player as an individual. Different strength, height, flexibility, sporting background, frequency of play are just a few of the differences that make you unique.

However, there are some very valuable core principles that can really help you to improve. Our goal is to teach these principles as they apply to you and then coach you to blend them in to your game. We want to help because we care about your golf. -Paul Ashwell

 

Coaching Facilities

At St Ives Golf Club we have outstanding practice and coaching facilities. Chosen by Titleist as the home of their National Fitting Centre the range features a modern contemporary design.

The Teaching Bay includes:

  • GASP Lab. The very latest computerised video coaching equipment as used by many National governing bodies and the PGA.
  • GCQuad Launch Monitor and Simulator. As seen on SKY SPORTS golf coverage.
  • GASP Lab 6 online lesson solution. Allows your swing videos and notes to be saved to your own account which you can view at your leisure.

    The pupil information that we collect, hold and share on www.golfsthegame.com include:

    • Personal information (such as username, name, address, phone number, email address, date and time first logged in, date and time last logged in).
    • Videos, files and pictures in relation to their sports movement and instruction received from their coach.
    • Attendance information (such as lessons taken).

    Why we collect and use this information:

    • to support pupil learning
    • to monitor pupil progress
    • to provide appropriate pastoral care
    • to assess the quality of our services
    • to comply with the law regarding data sharing

    Collecting pupil information:

    • Whilst the majority of pupil information you provide to us is mandatory, some of it is provided to us on a voluntary basis. In order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation, we will inform you whether you are required to provide certain pupil information to us or if you have a choice in this.

    Storing pupil data:

    • We hold pupil data for a period of 2 years from when the pupil last accessed their login.

    Who we share pupil information with:

    • We do not share information about our customers with anyone without their consent.
